FAQ General
An outdoor escape game is an interactive puzzle game in the city. With a tablet and puzzle material, you solve tasks as a team, follow a story and move through various stations in the city center – along the most beautiful sights.
In contrast to the classic escape room, with Epic Escape you don’t play in a room, but outside in the city. You are on the move, experience real locations and combine puzzle fun with fresh air, story and team dynamics.
Ideally, a team consists of 4 to 6 people. For larger groups, several teams are formed to play in parallel on different routes. Events are also possible for very large groups of up to 300 people.
The pure playing time is 90 minutes. Including briefing, material distribution and short evaluation, you should plan a total of about 2 hours.
Yes, light rain is no problem. Our routes are planned so that you can take shelter regularly. In the event of heavy rain, we will find a solution together – for example, a postponement or a voucher.
Please note: Goodwill solutions do not apply to combination products.
No. The route is moderate and can be mastered without any sporting challenges.
No. All puzzles are designed so that they can be solved without any previous knowledge. Hints will help you if you get stuck.
Ideally, there should be 4-6 people per team. This way, everyone can play an active role and the team remains manageable.
Depending on the game and city, the routes of our tours are pleasantly designed over approx. 1.8 to 2.4 kilometers and are largely barrier-free.
Our routes are largely barrier-free. There may be slight elevations in old town areas – but this has worked well on our previous tours. This means that it is generally also possible for people with slight walking difficulties, injuries or pregnant women to experience our escape games.
The games are played in German or English.
In the event of technical problems, you can reach us at any time via an emergency number. A replacement device can be provided at short notice so that you can continue playing quickly.
There is no traditional game master. The staff at our partner restaurant will instruct you in the game and hand out the tablets and other equipment. During the game, you are on your own with the tablets. If you have any questions or technical problems along the way, you can reach us at any time via our emergency number.
Escape Game
You can book the Escape Game directly and bindingly online via www.epicescape.de: Select the game, specify the number of players, date and time, pay – and you will immediately receive a booking confirmation by e-mail.
Combination product (e.g. escape game + dinner/breakfast)
Combination products are also booked online. We will then check the capacities of our partners. As soon as everything is confirmed, you will receive the final booking confirmation from us by e-mail.
For general questions, you can reach us by telephone via the location-specific telephone numbers listed on our website (Mon-Fri, 9:00-16:30).
If you have any problems during an ongoing tour, you will find an emergency number on the equipment that you can use to contact us at any time.

Don’t worry – no one will be left behind.
There are up to three hints available for each puzzle, which you can unlock directly in the game. These range from a little food for thought to a concrete solution. Only a few points are deducted from your score for each clue.
If you encounter technical problems, you can reach us at any time via the emergency number on the equipment.
FAQ for private customers
Procedure & Organization
You start and finish at the partner restaurant. After a short introduction, you will receive tablets and puzzle material and then play for approx. 90 minutes in the city. At the end there is a short evaluation.
A team consists of up to 6 people. Several teams are formed for larger groups. Depending on the division of the group, teams may compete against each other on different routes.
The game has a fixed duration of 90 minutes and runs continuously – it cannot be interrupted. The timer runs continuously, just like in a classic escape room. Of course, you can take a short breather, have a drink or take a deep breath at any time – but the game time continues to run.
Age, children & families
- Regular tours are suitable from the age of 13
- For children aged 9-12, we recommend the “Abracadabra” tour (only available at selected locations)
“Abracadabra” was specially developed for children and combines puzzle fun with age-appropriate learning content.
Note: Seasonal availability (bookable until October 31, winter break November-February) and only available at selected locations.
Yes, we recommend tours for mixed groups from the age of 13. Younger children can accompany you free of charge.
Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by at least one person per team. This person takes part free of charge.
Yes, the route is approx. 1.8 km long and largely barrier-free.
Yes, our games are also suitable for your stag party.
Preparation & participation
No. You will receive everything you need for the game on site. We only recommend clothing suitable for the weather.
Comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes are ideal. In case of rain, we also recommend a rain jacket or umbrella.
Booking & Vouchers
You can see availability directly in the booking calendar. If the date can be selected, it can usually still be booked. Otherwise we will get in touch with you.
Yes, if capacities are available. Please plan with the maximum number of people when booking. We can refund non-participants after the event. Please contact us by e-mail.
Please note: This does not apply to combination products.
You can obtain vouchers via our voucher page – including a puzzle template to print out.
Yes, our vouchers can be redeemed at any location and are valid for all games. So you are free to decide which escape game you would like to play. The vouchers are valid for 3 years from the date of purchase.
Costs & payment
The price per person is indicated on the respective product page. For combined products, the escape game is already included in the price.
You can pay by invoice, credit card or PayPal.
Cancellation & illness
The amount for non-participating persons will be refunded collectively after the event, provided the refund has been requested in writing. Our general terms and conditions apply.
Please note: This does not apply to combination products.
No. Cancellation free of charge is not possible for fixed-date bookings.
Weather & Technology
Yes, an umbrella is sufficient for light rain. In case of heavy rain, we will find a solution together. In this case, we can convert the booking into a voucher that can be redeemed flexibly for a later event at Epic Escape.
Please note: Combination products are excluded from goodwill arrangements and cannot be canceled or converted into vouchers.

Miscellaneous
Yes, dogs can generally be taken along as long as they are kept on a lead and can be easily integrated into the group.
The start and finish point is a partner restaurant where you can use the sanitary facilities. You can also use public toilets along the way.

Procedure & Organization
You start and finish your outdoor escape game in our partner restaurant. After a short briefing, you will receive tablets and puzzle material. You will then play for approx. 90 minutes in the city – in team play or challenge mode, depending on the size of the group. At the end, you will return to the partner restaurant and receive a short evaluation.
- Up to 6 people per team
- With 7-12 people you decide flexibly between team play or two teams
- From 13 people you automatically play in challenge mode with several teams, each with their own equipment and separate route
Yes, company events can also be organized for large groups. Several teams start at the same time on different routes, so that groups of 50 to 300 people can also be well looked after.
Yes, the focus is on communication, role allocation and joint problem-solving. The game is ideal for team building, onboarding or company celebrations.
Both are possible:
Team play: All teams follow a route or a common goal together
Challenge mode: Several teams compete against each other on different routes
The game mode depends on group size and preference.
Combination products for companies
You start your team event with a breakfast together in the partner restaurant. This is followed by a briefing and the direct start of the game.
Note: The breakfast offer is only available at selected locations. Please take note of the separate cancellation conditions.
After the escape game, an exclusively prepared 3-course menu awaits you in the partner restaurant. The final number of participants and vegetarian options must be sent at least 14 days before the event.

Christmas parties
Yes, Epic Escape is very suitable for Christmas parties – especially for team events. It’s a great way to experience something together and do something different from traditional Christmas activities.
At our Christmas party, you will experience an escape game specially tailored to the Christmas season: “Mission Christmas Party”. After the game, you’ll also be served mulled wine to warm you up and bring the event to a cozy close.
Booking & Planning
We recommend booking 2-4 weeks in advance, especially for larger groups or combination products such as dinner or breakfast.
The minimum booking is 4 people. There is no upper limit.
Yes, for larger groups several teams start at the same time on different routes.

For combined products, adjustments can only be made up to 14 days before the event at the latest.
Basically no, as our tours are precisely tailored to the city and route. Special solutions are only possible by individual arrangement.

For a pure Escape Game booking, a change is usually possible without any problems. For combined products, we will coordinate the change individually with our partners.

A fixed price per person applies, which is stated on the respective product page. For combined products, the escape game is already included in the price.

Cancellation & Cancellation

FAQ for school events
Yes. Epic Escape is very suitable for school classes.
School classes from the 8th grade (approx. 13 years) play our escape game “Catch Cobra”. For children aged 9-12, we offer our children’s game “Abrakadabra” at selected locations (e.g. Leipzig, Hanover, Braunschweig, Dresden and many more), which was designed in collaboration with educators.
For school classes, we offer an educational price of €15.00 per pupil (incl. VAT) instead of the regular €30.00 per person. Accompanying persons play for free.
To receive the educational discount, simply request an appointment with us – we will take the reduced price into account directly when preparing the offer.
